How do your chosen texts attract their audiences?

Lost's cast has a variety of people, an ensemble cast. They are predominantly American, with one young woman who is Australian, an English man, a couple from Japan and an Iraqi soldier. There is also a mixture of body build, skin colour and age. Lost has a typical episode structure of Todorov's theory. There is always at least one equilibrium and dis-equilibrium in an episode, and there are many depictions of heros and villains.
